After weeks into having the implant i got my period.. and havn't stopped bleeding since...help!?

I had the implant fitted roughly around two months ago i got my period within a couple of weeks and have been on my period ever since, its horrible, its also means me and my boyfriend avoid having sex, i feel as though im on an emotional rollercoaster, i have been getting the worst period pains....not to mention the constant feeling of lack of hygein and dirtyness no matter how much you shower. is this common, ive heard alot about peoples periods stopping or becoming slightly more regular but never constant periods. should this be a reason to get it removed? will it settle? sorry 21 questions but i really dont have a clue/
